This week’s WIP is another Martina Behm pattern called Knit Your Love. I am not a huge fan of shawls, but the workshop was being offered by my favorite teacher at my LYS, so I signed up for it anyway. I am going to give it away as a gift once it is finished.
What is great about a lot of Martina Behm patterns is that the shawl itself is mostly garter stitch, with just a unique treatment along the edging. This edging will be a row of attached hearts. The shawl will definitely require blocking, so I’ve pinned the hearts out a little for the picture so that you can see them. At the beginning, I couldn’t see the heart, but once you get through the first couple of repeats, they start to be show better.
For this project I am using Madeline Tosh Merino Light in the Scarlet colorway. It is a pleasure to knit with and will make for a very comfortable shawl for the recipient to wear around their neck. If I were to actually work on it regularly, it is a quick knit for a gift.
